Happy Monday!
I am so excited to be posting this.
and I are doing a collaborative post moment here on Substack! If you aren’t already, I highly recommend you go subscribe to the one and only . Their post will be up soon. Be sure to subscribe or follow so you don’t miss a thing! We each pulled cards for the same spread for the collective, and we are sharing our own readings. Each love letter has insights from different decks and messages of hope. Continue reading to hear about the messages from The Bees on how to stay engaged and involved in the work of liberation and justice.
How do we tend to our work?
Ten of Disks
As I talked about in this post, I see the ten of pentacles (disks) as a card of legacy, a card of inherited material goods or financial health (and in reverse, the lack of). As a collective, especially a collective working towards liberation, we should be looking at not just the work or task at hand, but the lasting effects on the future. What is the legacy we are leaving together? What is the legacy you are leaving? How are you adding (or detracting) from the collective legacy of liberation?
What can we do to create a better work environment for ourselves?
The World
This message is simple: Think about others and how we are all interdependent and interconnected. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Universal Design for Learning is a concept based on the fact that there are universal accommodations that should be in place for everyone, not just students receiving special education services. Visual schedules are essential for every person, not those with cognitive disabilities. Visual schedules are a universal accommodation everyone uses. This also applies to ADA regulations such as having accessible bathroom stalls, etc. Those aren’t just good for people using mobility aids, they’re helpful to people with kids, who need to change, etc.
We can create better work environments by thinking of others, the impact of our actions and words, and thinking about inclusion. Walk and work through the lens of love.
What attitude can inspire love and care towards our work?
The Priestess
Knowing that there is more out there than just ourselves, our family, our circle. Look at the bigger picture. Tap out of need for blind action, reckless movement, and competition. Tap in to intuition, contemplation, collective mindset and care. This all sounds repetitive, but when there is a message woven this deeply into the cards, we need listen.
How can our work reward us?
The Emperor
This one had me raising an eyebrow in disbelief, but let’s look at this card. This is a card of decomposition, the breaking down of the traditional patriarchal hierarchy. The work within liberation opens us up to true leadership rather than dictatorship and hierarchy. People can lead while still be same-tier community members. Each community member has a role that fits them. Let’s allow ourselves to lean into our authenticity rather than the boxes our capitalistic, patriarchal world demands.
A message from the bees
If you have been following my tarot spreads here or on IG, you know that I love getting direct messages from the energy we work with. While this message was not in the spread, I felt drawn to use the Apothecary Spirits Oracle by Hermit’s Mirror and Co.
I immediately laughed because Mugwort is Artemis, and Pomegranate is Persephone. It’s comforting to know that my goddesses are always near, even when reading for the collective. It was a very loud call to justice and divine feminine movement. Artemis is a goddess who is often slept on for justice, but every myth about her is vengeful in some way, and she is always in pursuit of justice in the eyes of patriarchal storytelling.
Mugwort: Glamor, Illusion, Enchantment
Pomegranate: Charity, Generosity, Self-Sacrifice
We must work together to create a world of community care, safety and accessibility for all. Mugwort is known for its dream magic. Pomegranate bestows wisdom. We must collectively dream up and work towards a better future. That will look like giving up some comforts, sharing resources, and being willing to ask for help. We can’t always be in that powerful position of bestowing. We must be humble enough to know when to receive as well.
