We are down to the wire with Persephone’s Descent, and that’s on me as I have been hanging out with my partner’s sister and filling my cup. It was such a fulfilling 5 days. Thank you for your patience if you were waiting for more information.
I will be sharing the prompts with you so you can save them, but they will also be up on IG so you can access them/save them there too. First though, I want to share a pivotal (in my mind) difference in how goddess work may be perceived by people.
Goddess Work to me can look like deity work with altars and offerings or energy work which is less literal/concrete.
Deity Work
Goddess work for me includes actual deity, polytheism work. I have an altar. I leave offerings. I light candles. I pray. I interpret daily happenings as messages. Sometimes, I even dream of Artemis hearing a literal whisper in my ear.
This way definitely includes energy work where I think about the personality traits, strengths and weaknesses associated with my goddesses (I don’t mess with masc energy as of yet), but I see them more as a humanoid figure rather than just a universal energy that I can tap in and out of. There is more devotion and dedication, more ritual and routine in the way that I work with my goddesses.
When I know I need to work through the duality of a situation, I call on Persephone. Sometimes it looks more energetic such as calling on bat to get give me the wisdom and intuition to get through, and I throw on some of my Persephone perfume for that physical, grounding reminder.
Other times, it is an offering, conversation/prayer, and a candle. It is talking to her as a guide rather than just an energy of feminine strength and self assuredness.
Energy Work
Energy work might be a better option for you. This sees Persephone, Lilith, Hera, etc. as universal energies to tap in and out of. They may represent a pillar of strength, morality, or values for you and give you a figure for those associations, but you may not see them as divine beings so much as energies. This is fine! In fact, this is where I started with my journey. Some people stay here others move to more deity worship others abandon it all, and some have mixes. Spirituality is cool because it is about you and what works for you.
I have friends who see aspects of themselves or of deities that they tap into you like an energy river. They don’t have need for the altar and dedications. They have all they need within that energetic river. I moved on from this because I needed something more concrete to remind me and to hold me accountable to the work I wanted to do, but that my executive dysfunction didn’t always allow me to access. I am also a very literal person and having physical, literal interpretations helped me build routines.
Why does this matter? Well, I have set up Persephone’s Descent through the lens of deity work rather than energy work. With deity work, you need to have a good basis which is what the first week is. It is about setting yourself up for success by learning about and exploring how you feel about the aspects of Persephone, the things that Persephone is associated with.
For instance, if winter is hard for you, knowing what gives you hope for spring (crocuses, andromeda, that random week of 60* in February) also allows you to tap into Persephone’s existence within your daily life.
You may discover over the next 31 days that you are definitely a deity work person or an energy work person. You may find that you can dip in and out of both. You may find that you are far more ethereal, and you don’t need or even enjoy the more literal aspects of this work. You may find that, like me, literal interpretations and physical representations allow for you to build context and delve deeper from there.
Everyone is different. All of that is honored here, but you must be self aware enough to notice what does and doesn’t work for you. This is where group coaching may come in handy, and it is included in the paid portion of Persephone’s Descent. The group coaching and community aspect gives you space to process with other people and me in a small, intimate setting here on Substack (or Discord if I can’t get it to work here. Always have a plan b).
As a reminder, the paid tier of Persephone’s Descent includes 31 days of group coaching/community access, an altar cloth kit with a cross stitch pattern made by me and a tutorial video, and a copy of a zine with artwork by my one and only

Excited to join this journey! I filled out the google form. Thank you for offering this!
I’m looking forward to it! I suspect that I will be more drawn to the energy work side however I’m keen to explore deity work from a more literal view.
