I have been doing an affirmation challenge on Instagram, and I am a week in. When I think of affirmations, I often think they aren’t for me. How I can possibly think that when I use them every day that I leave my home is beyond me!
Truly, part of that early morning routine that I have described before is reciting affirmations, and I used them for this challenge because they are so powerful for me. When my routine is thrown off, and I don’t have time to do them, I feel naked and vulnerable all day.
This will be a short love note, but here are the prompts if you are interested in participating. I have just been sharing to my stories for the most part. This weekend, however, I did start to turn these affirmations I have written into a little deck for myself. I will probably end up redoing the cards because they are perfect (and never will be, but it’s fine). I know that I can improve so I will get this rough draft out of my system and figure out a way to fix the bits I don’t like.
Because I don’t like the save feature of IG, I decided to write (and add) the sentence starters in my Creativity Journal by
. This was a last minute decision so the no spend is written up there, but I think I can fit both in when need be. Some of these were harder than others. Some came quick like lightning. On the first of April, I had to call an emergency dentist, of which I am terrified, so affirming the strength and devotion within and to myself felt aligned and what made me start this journey.
I have been using my Arteza alcohol markers, some brush pens, and some paper cut in half from a Copic notebook for the little deck. I definitely want to redo the “I am…” card, but I am also learning to share the learning process, not just the final results I love.
I think I also want to explore some water color application on some of them too just to see what happens and what I can come up with. I am not an artist in the least, but I figure I might be able to figure out some abstract backgrounds that I like.
Here are the affirmations I have from week 1:
I affirm the desire, strength, devotion within to care for my body.
I am protected. I am loved. I am loving. I am calm. I am discerning.
I love with an expanding heart.
I create from Divine Inspiration.
I have all that I need to attract all that I want.
I radiate authenticity.
I nourish my creative and spiritual practices.
How do you feel about affirmations? Are you called to them? Have you worked with them before? Are they not for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts below! Let me know if any of the above resonate with you!
Wishing you well this week! May your life offer what you need in this moment.
With love,
Aventurine ✨
I love your affirmations and that you are using the tracking page in the journal! I think affirmations are very powerful but sometimes they feel fluffy. I don't always do affirmations, I have a beautiful goddess affirmations deck I used before to get some premade affirmations and I really enjoyed carrying that positive energy and mindset for the week. Maybe I should pull the deck out and use it.
I like making affirmations for others, but I always find it hard to do them for myself. Turning affirmations into art is so inspiring to me! Thank you for sharing all of this
